Our client is an internationally operating company from a German speaking country, one of the leading manufacturers of machinery and systems for metalworking industry. This well-established, medium-sized company with almost 500 employees operates several branches and serves customers worldwide. The product range covers single machines as well as complete solution, including assembly and logistic aspects. Further intensive growth in Poland is being aimed now. Currently there is the position of the General Manager / Plant Manager for Poland to fill.

Job description:

  • Our client is planning a further significant expansion of the Polish production site.
  • As General Manager / Plant Manager, you will lead the Polish location in close cooperation with the head office and will be responsible for the further expansion and development of the Polish subsidiary. As part of further expansion, one focus of activity is increasing the independence of the location with the long-term perspective of developing the location into an excellence center for the company.
  • P&L responsibility for the Polish company (with a manager of the head office)
  • Formulating, planning and securing the targeted market, sales and earnings targets for Poland in close cooperation with the head office; Participation in budget preparation
  • Management, motivation, training and control of the employees on site
  • Ensuring smooth operations
  • Responsibility for production and ensuring delivery dates to customers
  • Ensuring accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as incoming payments and payment runs
  • Active design of the further development of the company
  • Construction and development of a process organization
  • Assessment of the current business risks, in particular the contracts with customers
  • Monitoring of finances and compliance with the budget, analysis of budget deviations and the development and implementation of corrective measures
  • Building and maintaining long-term business relationships at all decision-making levels
  • Reporting to headquarters

Job requirements:

  • Excellent command of Polish (on a native level) and good command of English and/or German, both spoken and written.
  • Several years of successful professional experience in a similar management and executivce position, preferably in an international manufacturing company, preferably with a background in mechanical engineering
  • University degree or similar qualification (technical with commercial experience)
  • Personnel and leadership experience
  • Excellent leadership skills, experience in personnel management as well as ability to motivate a team.
  • You have excellent leadership skills; you are convincing and know how to assert yourself in dealing with the staff and customers at all levels.
  • Hands-on mentality, pragmatic solution orientation
  • High level of customer and service orientation while representing the interests of the company
  • You are a “proactive” personality with a high level of initiative and commitment and good communication skills
  • Very sociable and team-oriented personality, a high degree of motivation, willingness to learn and ambition round off your profile.
  • You arecompetent and focusedin your actions and approach, your conduct is confident and friendly.
  • You are team-minded and have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Limited amount of travelling (to headquarters, partially to customers in Poland)
